Six hospital employees were injured after a patient allegedly attacked staff at Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital in Oceanside on Monday evening.

Nassau police say 22-year-old John Prunty became irate, threw a table at one nurse, struck another in the head and attacked two security staff members who attempted to restrain him.

Prunty was arrested and faces multiple charges, including assault and attempted assault. Hospital officials say all six injured employees were treated and released, with no serious injuries reported.
