A young Shiva devotee from Noida narrowly escaped tragedy after being swept away by the strong current of the Ganga while bathing at Kangra Ghat in Haridwar. An alert Uttarakhand Police SDRF jawan immediately jumped into the river and, after a strenuous rescue effort, safely brought the devotee back to shore. The swift response of the rescue personnel prevented a major mishap.
