US President Donald Trump began talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping on May 14, 2026, during their much-anticipated summit. It is the first visit to China by a US president since Trump’s last trip in 2017 during his first term in office. Xi and Trump are expected to discuss the war on Iran, trade, technology and Taiwan, among other points of contention.
