Woman’s fall at Long Island firehouse parking lot launches police probe, court action
A Suffolk judge approved a request from an attorney representing the estate of a woman who was allegedly hit by a car in the Farmingville Fire Department parking lot to file a notice of claim even though the 90-day deadline has passed.
The attorney representing Theresa Vazquez’s estate said in court papers he could not file the notice during that time window because fire officials withheld video of the incident until the deadline had passed.
The 75-year-old woman died of cancer six months after the alleged hit-and-run.
