‘Who Approved FBI Wiretaps?’: Josh Hawley’s Chilling Ultimatum To Biden DOJ Officials; Senate Erupts
At a tense Senate hearing, U.S. Senator Josh Hawley accused the Biden administration of politically targeting opponents, claiming the FBI tapped his phone. Hawley confronted Democrats over the alleged surveillance, saying, “We know who approved FBI wiretaps,” and demanded AG Pam Bondi investigate and get to the bottom of the matter. Hawley was referring to the newly disclosed records revealing that the FBI “tapped” the phones of eight sitting U.S. senators during special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation of Trump’s bid to subvert the 2020 election. Hawley even showed an FBI document, publicly released Monday by Senate Judiciary Chair Chuck Grassley, that referenced a “preliminary toll analysis” of nine lawmakers.
