White House Correspondents’ dinner shooting suspect facing 2 charges, DC press conference announces
President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump were rushed out of the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner and attendees dropped to the floor after gunshots were heard inside the Washington Hilton hotel where the event was taking place on April 25.
Jeanine Pirro, U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, said the suspect in custody – 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen, of Torrance, California – is being charged with two counts, including using a firearm during a crime of violence and assault on a federal officer using a dangerous weapon.
