Western Cape intensify efforts to fight crime


Police Minister Firoz Cachalia has reaffirmed the importance of the Cooperation Agreement that was entered into by the SAPS, the Western Cape government and the City of Cape Town in September last year.

The agreement forms the foundation for joint efforts to improve safety and security in communities across the province.

The Minister recently visited the Western Cape to assess police operations across the Cape Flats.

And to strengthen inter-governmental cooperation, aimed at fighting crime in Cape Town and the Western Cape.

The City has seen a spike in mass shootings and gang violence over the last few months.
