‘We will not back down’: VIC Farmers outraged over Allen’s compulsory acquisition laws

Farmer Ben Duxson described how farmers are joining forces to oppose the Allen government’s initiative to grant energy companies access to private farmland for evaluating potential sites for high-voltage power lines.

“Just the disrespect, the arrogance and the intimidation of these people and these are authorised officers,” Mr Duxson told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“It’s not these … people that we have a problem with, it’s fairly and squarely on the government and VicGrid … Jacinta Allen need to come out here and need to be the ones that try to force us off our land.

“We will stand, we are getting bigger and bigger support … we will not back down.”
