‘We are the closest of kin’: King Charles lauds UK’s ‘enduring bond’ with the United States
King Charles has lauded the UK’s “enduring bond” with the United States in a speech delivered to guests at a lavish state banquet at Windsor Castle.
US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were in attendance, along with Queen Camilla.
King Charles celebrated the bond between the United Kingdom and the United States, describing it as a “special” relationship that has “made us safer and stronger through the generations”.
“The ocean still may divide us, but in so many other ways, we are the closest of kin,” King Charles said.
“We are united by a common language and shared heritage.
“Our two nations have an exceptional legacy of shared discovery.”
