WATCH | Sewage spill wrecks homes, displaces residents as tuberculosis and malaria cases rise
Residents of Nyakallong a small township in the Free State’s Matjhabeng municipality are living in dire conditions as sewage-contaminated water floods homes and streets. Families have been displaced, properties damaged, and health concerns are rising, with cases of tuberculosis and malaria reported in the community. The toxic Voelpan mine dam, now mixed with industrial waste and raw sewage, continues to pose a serious threat to residents’ safety and wellbeing.
