Venezuela willing to negotiate with the US after series of strikes on drug vessels

Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro has declared he’s willing to negotiate with the US to combat drug trafficking.

In comments broadcast on state television, Mr Maduro claimed Venezuela is ready to engage with the Trump Administration to combat the problem.

He also said Venezuela is open to American investment in its oil market.

The interview was recorded on the same day the US announced it had carried out a series of strikes on five alleged drug smuggling vessels.
