Usindiso Building Fire | Sthembiso Mdlalose denies starting the fire

Alleged Usindiso building arsonist, Sthembiso Mdlalose, has denied starting the fire at the hijacked building in the Johannesburg CBD in 2023 that led to the deaths of 76 people. He says the alleged confession he made at the Khampepe Commission about killing someone and setting their body alight, leading to the outbreak of fire, was all a lie. Mdlalose was testifying in the Palm Ridge Magistrates’ Court in Ekurhuleni. He faces 76 counts of murder, 12 counts of attempted murder, and arson.
