US congressional candidate released after detention in West Bank
New York Democratic congressional candidate Brad Lander said he was released from Israeli military custody, telling CNN that he and other volunteers were “peacefully” accompanying Palestinian olive pickers and activists in the occupied West Bank when they were detained today. While Lander was released, dozens of volunteers and activists remain detained. CNN’s Jeremy Diamond reports.
