U.S. Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz and Rep. Ted Lieu clashed during a House hearing over the number of American troops wounded in the Iran conflict. After Waltz estimated the figure at “over 100,” Lieu cited Defense Casualty Analysis System data showing 482 wounded service members, accusing Waltz of providing false information and calling for his resignation. The heated exchange also touched on the security of U.S. forces in Jordan and Waltz’s previous dismissal as national security adviser, before other lawmakers intervened to object to Lieu’s remarks.
