President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Rustem Umerov as the head of Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service. Umerov has a strong reputation and experience managing key institutions, making him a figure seen as capable of bringing stability during a period of political change. These recent appointments reflect Zelenskyy’s attempt to select officials who are credible among Ukrainian society and the military.
