Hong Kong recorded its hottest day on record on Sunday as the outer subsiding air of Typhoon Dolphin brought extreme heat to the city. The Labour Department said it would review the Heat Stress at Work Warning system after the lowest-level amber alert remained in force despite temperatures reaching 36.9 degrees Celsius (98.4°F) at the Observatory. Labour groups also called for better protection for outdoor workers and compensation for heatstroke-related injuries.
