Tsontso laid to rest in Phake

Family, friends and fellow runners recall Tsontso’s warmth and legacy at emotional service

THE final farewell to Elizabeth “Tsontso” Moselakgomo was filled with hymns, drums and memories as a packed funeral service in Phake, Mpumalanga, celebrated the life of the 38-year-old mother.

Family, friends, community members and some of the runners who shared the road with Tsontso gathered on Sunday to honour a woman remembered for her warmth, happiness and love for those around her.

The atmosphere was emotional, but the service also reflected the life Tsontso lived, as mourners celebrated her before she was laid to rest.

Tsontso disappeared after leaving her Kempton Park home for an afternoon run on 9 September.

Her body was later identified by her family at the Germiston mortuary on 15 September.
