‘Trust has been lost’: Jane Hume reflects on by-election loss as voters ‘sent a message’

Deputy Liberal Leader Jane Hume spoke on the ‘disappointing’ defeat to One Nation during the Farrer by-election.

“There’s no doubt that the result here in Farrer has been a disappointing one,” Ms Hume told Sky News Australia.

“We need to rebuild trust. Trust has been lost by the Coalition; it was lost with two splits to the Coalition in just 12 months, it was lost when we abandoned all of our policies, and people didn’t know what it was that we stood for.

“There’s no doubt that the people in Farrer were sending us a message.”
