Trump’s economic ‘mismanagement’ will see Reps lose House and potentially Senate

Democratic Strategist Malbert Smith says US President Donald Trump’s “mismanagement” of the economy will see the Republicans lose the House of Representatives and “potentially” the Senate.

​“When he was inaugurated, inflation was three per cent. It jumped up to 4.2 per cent because of Trump’s war in Iran, his tariffs, and his cuts to health care, Mr Smith told News24 Digital Presenter Gabriella Power.

​“Americans see this; they see that President Trump has mismanaged the economy and that Trump’s own actions have led to these cost increases they are experiencing in their own life.

​“It is going to end up with the Republicans losing the House and potentially losing the Senate.”
