Trump on Venezuela: ‘Let’s make it the 51st state’ amid oil imports, says Texas will refine it
US President Donald Trump suggested Venezuela should become the 51st state in the union, several months after military intervention and raid in Venezuela that resulted in the capture of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores
“Let’s make it the 51st state and instead of a president, we’ll have an election for a
governor,” Trump said,. “They have a lot of oil.”
Trump went on to suggest the imports of oils from Venezuela will drop the price of oil, despite occurring over the past several months.
