Trump applauds Kash Patel and the FBI for their speedy capture of Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin
US President Donald Trump has praised the FBI and its director, Kash Patel, for their conduct in arresting a suspect for the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.
The alleged assassin is a 22-year-old who was arrested in the town of Washington, Utah.
The arrest took place just 33 hours after he allegedly shot Charlie Kirk at an event at Utah Valley University.
It has been reported that the alleged shooter, Tyler Robinson, has not confessed to the crime and is not cooperating with authorities.
Trump speaking with Fox News Digital said, “I am very proud of the FBI … Kash, and everyone else, they have done a great job.”
Patel took a hands-on approach in the investigation, walking through the crime scene, standing on the rooftop where the shooting took place, and personally directing agents while the evidence was being processed.
The FBI director also released CCTV footage of the shooter to the public despite being recommended not to.
