Trump adviser Kevin Hassett blames bad jobs report on World Cup, DOGE, snow days
Kevin Hassett, the Director of the National Economic Council of U.S., spoke to reporters outside of the White House on Friday. Hassett answered questions about the July jobs report, unemployment, Russia sanctions, tariffs, and more.
The U.S. economy lost 23,000 jobs in July, while local government education employment fell by roughly 50,000.
Hassett cited winter snowstorms and delayed school calendars, along with government workforce changes and post-World Cup employment shifts, as factors behind the report.
