Three Rare Masterpieces Worth Millions Recovered After Theft
Italian authorities have recovered three paintings by Renoir, Cézanne and Matisse that were stolen from a private museum near Parma earlier this year. The works were found wrapped in sheets during a search of a flat in Parma on Friday. The recovered paintings include Cézanne’s Still Life with Cherries, valued at about $6.88 million, Renoir’s Fish, worth $3.44 million, and Matisse’s Odalisque on the Terrace. The paintings were stolen from the Magnani Rocca Foundation in March after thieves forced their way into the museum.
