Thousands of Victorian teachers strike in Melbourne over rejected pay deal

Thousands of Victorian teachers have taken to the streets of Melbourne in their second 24-hour strike in months, after narrowly voting down an 11th hour pay deal from the state government. The teachers gathered in the Bourke Street Mall in the centre of the city before marching. Teachers say the dispute is about more than just money, demanding better conditions, higher pay for support staff, less time spent in meetings, and smaller class sizes. #Victorianteachers #teacherstrike #educationfunding
