‘They just want to tick this box’: Labor accused of using Royal Commission to dodge scrutiny
Nationals Senator Ross Cadell accuses the Albanese Government of using the Royal Commission to deflect political pressure rather than uncover the causes of the failures.
“This is not to find the reasons this happened and make recommendations to stop it again; it was a royal commission called to stop the political pressure on the government,” Mr Cadell told News24 host Paul Murray.
“They just want to tick this box and move on and say we held a Royal Commission.
“It needs to get to the root issues of what caused this problem and not just allow a cover-up.”
