A mass shooting in Thailand has reportedly left multiple dead after a student allegedly opened fire at a school north of Bangkok.
At least four people have reportedly been killed and around 30 others injured after a shooting at Debsirin Nonthaburi School in Thailand’s Nonthaburi province, on the outskirts of Bangkok.
Local emergency services said the gunman opened fire shortly after 10am local time. Early reports indicated that two students and two teachers were among the dead, while several others were left in critical condition. Authorities were still working to confirm the final casualty toll as the emergency response continued.
Videos from the scene showed terrified students climbing through windows and running from the campus as heavily armed police, rescue crews and ambulances rushed to the area. Witnesses said the suspect, believed to be a student, was still inside the building during part of the operation, with intermittent gunfire reportedly heard.
Emergency communications also indicated that medical teams were sent to Building 5, where one victim was receiving CPR. Police urged parents and the public to avoid the area and not share livestreams of the unfolding operation, warning that doing so could interfere with safety efforts.
