TH RCI: Zulkifli flags conflict of interest in TH’s 1MDB-era land deal

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan flagged a potential conflict of interest in Tabung Haji’s (TH) purchase of TRX land from 1MDB at the height of the 1MDB crisis, noting TH’s then-CEO also sat on 1MDB’s board.

Briefing the Dewan Rakyat on the RCI TH report, he said the RCI also questioned TH’s investment in Putrajaya Perdana Bhd, whose chairman was also TH’s chairman, a deal later tied to 1MDB that cost TH RM145.3 million.
