The announcement was made by mediators Pakistan and Qatar in a joint statement following US-Iran talks held in Switzerland. The mediators described the discussions as having taken place in a “positive and constructive atmosphere, and added that encouraging progress had been achieved, including the creation of a mechanism to facilitate further technical talks.
