Tech shares and AI optimism push S&P 500 to new ‘fresh records’
CommSec’s James Gruber weighs in on the overnight surge in US markets, which pushed the S&P 500 to new “fresh records”.
“US markets overnight, they were up. The S&P 500 reached fresh records, up 0.7 per cent, and the Nasdaq rose 0.8 per cent,” Mr Gruber told News24.
“It was fuelled by tech shares again. They were helped by tame inflation data as well as optimism around AI demand following recent results.”
