The Sydney Metro South West line is set to transform Bankstown and surrounding suburbs with trains running every four minutes, connecting the area to the CBD in just 28 minutes. The $1 billion infrastructure project is expected to bring 13,500 new dwellings to Bankstown CBD, with upgrades to hospitals and sporting facilities. Early forecasts predict 35% higher passenger demand than originally anticipated, with 2,500 extra passengers between 8-9am alone, following the success of the North West Metro line which drove significant commercial and residential investment in the Hills district.
