Suspended National Police Commissioner and co-accused appeared in court
Suspended National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola and over a dozen other senior police officers are due back in the Pretoria Magistrates’ court.
This is in connection with the R228 million Medicare24 SAPS tender awarded to controversial tenderpreneurand attempted murder accused, Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala’s company.
Masemola faces charges of violating the Public Finance Management Act.
While the other SAPS officers – most of whom sat on the Bid Evaluation Committee of the Medicare24 tender – face charges of fraud and corruption.
