Satellite imagery detected what appears to be an oil spill off the west coast of Kharg Island – a key Iranian oil export hub. The exact cause of the spill remains unclear. Kharg Island has been forced to fill its oil storage beyond regular levels due to the US blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
