Students on the verge of quitting over stipend issues


Desperate students who are studying bricklaying and plumbing at Northern Cape Urban TVET College in Kimberley say they are on the verge of quitting their training due to inconsistencies by Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) in paying stipends. Affected students say late payments prevent them from continuing with their job training due to lack of transport monies. They have also been unable to pay rent since January.
