Pupils fled their classrooms during a school shooting that left at least two people dead in the southern Philippines this morning.
The youngsters hid under their desks when gunshots rang out at the Jesuit-run Ateneo de Zamboanga campus in Zamboanga del Sur, shortly before classes started.
They barricaded the doors with chairs and tables as one terrified female student said: ‘Don’t be noisy because there’s someone here. Stay down. Be quiet or he will hear us.’
A warning siren then wailed across the school before the children bolted from the room and out of the building.
Officials said at least two people died, including the alleged shooter Mohammad Nael Jalani.
The star student reportedly wore a bodycam as he livestreamed his gun rampage.
