Specific laws needed to regulate digital marketplace, says Zahid

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has called for a more comprehensive framework to keep pace with the rapidly expanding digital marketplace.

Speaking at the 54th Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry Enforcement Day and the launch of the National Consumer Policy 2.0 on Tuesday (April 28), he said a dedicated law to regulate online trade is needed to address emerging challenges in the digital economy.

However, he stressed that the success of any policy should not be judged by its wording, but by its real impact on the people.
