Sol Plaatje Municipality rejects administration decision
Sol Plaatje Municipality in Kimberley has rejected the decision by Northern Cape MEC for Co-operative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs, Bentley Vass to put them under administration.
Sol Plaatje municipal manager is seeking immediate withdrawal of administrators, who were appointed last week to assume oversight of the municipalities affairs.
The South African Municipal Workers Union (SAMWU) downed tools in support of the municipality’s demands to have administrators removed, grinding service delivery across Kimberley to a halt.
