Sithembiso Ngema elected new DA KZN leader


Sithembiso Ngema has been elected as the new provincial leader of the Democratic Alliance (DA) in KwaZulu-Natal at the party’s provincial congress held in Durban.

Ngema replaces the outgoing leader Francois Rodgers.

Ngema, who was deputy provincial leader, had served as a DA member of the eThekwini Municipality before he was sworn in as member of the KwaZulu-Natal legislature on the 28th of September 2023.

Dean Macpherson was re-elected as provincial chairperson, while Martin Meyer as deputy provincial leader.

The party also elected Sandile Mnikathi as first deputy chairperson, Sakhile Mngadi as second deputy chairperson, and Swelakhe Shelembe as third deputy chairperson.
