School attack; alleged isis-bride released on bail; bishop charged on alleged sex offence | 7NEWS
A 15-year-old student is in emergency surgery following a violent attack near his school in Cranbourne South. The boy was walking with two friends less than 100 meters from the school gates when three hooded youths armed with knives and machetes targeted him. After sustaining slash injuries to his back, neck, and hands, the victim collapsed on the school oval.
Alleged isis- bride Rayann El Houli has been released on strict bail conditions. She has been made to surrender her passport and observe a curfew. The 34-year-old is accused of joining the Islamic State in 2014.
Christopher Saunders, the 76-year-old former Bishop of Broome, faces 26 charges of sexual offences allegedly committed over 11 years against young Aboriginal males. Saunders is the highest-ranking member of the Catholic Church in Australia to face sex crime charges after Cardinal George Pell and has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
