Safe return of over 700 initiates celebrated
Thousands of families gathered in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga to celebrate the safe return of over seven hundred initiates after completing the two-month traditional initiation season. The ceremony marked not only the transition into manhood, but also the successful conclusion of a season with no reported fatalities in the area under the Mashilo tribe. Provincial leaders have urged the newly initiated men to embrace their new responsibilities by becoming role models in their families, communities and through education.
