Rustenburg plagued by power outage challenges

Residents in parts of Rustenburg in the North West have endured days of prolonged power outages. The Ristenburg Local Municipality says ageing infrastructure, repeated faults and vandalism are at the centre of the crisis, with repairs and upgrades currently under way. We’re joined now by Rustenburg Local Municipality mayor Shiela Mabale-Huma and ward 43 councillor Luan Snyders to unpack what caused the outages, when residents can expect lasting relief, and how the municipality plans to prevent this from happening again.
