Russia releases US prisoner | Deeply traumatised: Helen Haines’ staff speak out after alleged attack

Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff has praised Russian leader, Vladimir Putin as a “humanitarian”, after the release of a US citizen who was held in a Russian prison for 4 years. The description rejected by several US politicians, including those in the Republican party, who described it as “embarrassing and outrageous.”

“Deeply traumatised” – that’s how the staff of Helen Haines say they’re feeling, revealing most were inside her Wangaratta electorate office when the federal independent MP was struck by a car in an alleged targeted attack, some also involved in her immediate care. Dr Haines has had both legs amputated and remains in a critical condition at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne.
