US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington hopes to convince Beijing to take a more active role in curbing Iran’s actions in the Persian Gulf. Rubio made the remarks on board Air Force One, which carried a US delegation to China for high-stakes talks in Beijing. The Iran conflict is expected to loom large over discussions at the leader’s summit between Chinese President Xi Jinping and his US counterpart Donald Trump.
