Recovery progress steady after W Cape storms

Western Cape Premier Alan Winde says while steady progress has been made in recovery efforts following the recent destructive storms across the province, there is still much more work to be done.
The Premier and provincial ministers have concluded a four-day assessment of some of the areas devastated by the severe weather earlier this month of May 2026. The provincial cabinet says its committed to working with local and national government to make sure the needed funds are made available to support recovery efforts.
