RCI report recommends major governance overhaul for Tabung Haji

Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) should remain a single entity but undergo a major governance overhaul, including barring active politicians from its board and conducting forensic audits into past investments that led to a severe decline in asset values.

These were among the findings of the newly declassified Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report, which was released by the government on Wednesday (July 29).

The report said the weaknesses that led to TH’s financial problems could be addressed without fundamentally changing its existing structure.
