President Ramaphosa delivers keynote address at National Women’s Day Commemoration 2026

This occasion marks the 70th anniversary of the historic 1956 women’s march by about 20-thousand women. The 1956 march opposed the apartheid government’s decision to extend urban passes to women and was a precursor to major political changes that led to South Africa’s democracy.
