Police investigate mass shootings in Western Cape
Eleven people have been confirmed dead and six others injured, during mass shooting incidents in Cape Town and Stellenbosch.
Detectives attached to the Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Unit are investigating four counts of murder and four counts of attempted murder – following a mass shooting in Kayamandi, Stellenbosch, last night.
While attending to the crime scene, police heard gunfire in the vicinity. SAPS members responded to the incident, but armed suspects opened fire on them.
During the exchange of gunfire, two SAPS members and two members of the public sustained gunshot wounds.
