Poland airspace breach triggers UN Security Council talks | NATO activates Article 4
The United Nations Security Council will hold an emergency meeting tomorrow, after NATO aircraft were forced to shoot down suspected Russian drones over Poland.
Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk says the incident has brought the country closer to war than at any time since World War Two, accusing Russia of a deliberate act designed to test NATO’s resolve.
Russia’s Defence Ministry said drones had carried out a major attack on military facilities in western Ukraine, but it had not planned to hit any targets in Poland.
