Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoists the National Flag at the Red Fort during India’s 80th Independence Day celebrations on August 15, 2026.
The flag-hoisting ceremony is synchronised with a 21-Gun Salute by the 1721 Field Battery (Ceremonial), using indigenous 105mm Light Field Guns. The ceremonial battery is commanded by Major Pawan Singh Shekhawat, with Naib Subedar Anuthosh Sarkar serving as the Gun Position Officer.
