Over 100 undocumented foreign nationals detained in Mahikeng inspection blitz
The Departments of Labour and Employment, as well as Home Affairs, have conducted an inspection at a construction site and different workplaces in Mahikeng in the North West.
This is part of the national multidisciplinary inspection blitz aimed at strengthening compliance with labour, immigration and related legislation.
Two of over 100 employees were found to be undocumented foreign nationals at a major construction site in Mahikeng.
The employer was reportedly fined R10 000, while the pair was arrested and are set to be processed for deportation.
