Operation Ubuntu | We will not remain silent: Protesters
Memoranda of demands have been handed over to representatives of the Departments of Home Affairs and Human Settlements, and the police, as part of the Cape Town leg of “Operation Ubuntu”.
Marchers took to the streets in the Mother City, Johannesburg and Durban, to protest against what they describe as hate, afrophobia and xenophobia.
It took place against the backdrop of ongoing protests countrywide against undocumented migrants.
Organisers have called for a moratorium on the repatriations of migrants.
